LIGHTWAVES
1 WEEK
SPRING 2019
Sound has a great physiological affection on us. For example, ocean waves have the frequency of roughly twelve cycles per minute. Twelve cycles per minute is also roughly the frequency of the breathing of a sleeping human, so there is a deep resonance of being stress-free and at rest. I wanted to capture this in a product, based on the same principle but instead of sound, using light.
PROJECT FOCUS
Explore the properties of light in Keyshot

The project resulted in a table lamp spreading illuminating waves of light. The circular shape of the bottom allows it to rock back and forth, creating the sense of a moving ripple effect projecting onto the table surface, wall or ceiling. The lamp can also be used as a bookstand.
